Durable in design, these green corn plastic clamshells are made from tinted PLA derived from corn. The cornstarch is heated and processed and then molded into the shape of the clamshells. They are a perfect food container for sandwiches, salads, fruit, veggies, desserts, and more. These green PLA clamshells are Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI®) Certified compostable to compost within 180 days in a commercial composting facility, which may not exist in your area. With a perfect design for consumers and restaurant owners, these green clamshells meet the new labeling requirements for compostable food service products in Washington State and Colorado. Effective in 2024, these laws require certain compostable products to be labeled in ways that make them “readily and easily identifiable” as compostable.
