Eco-Products® compostable green lid for 2-4 oz cups are made from PLA, which is made from plants. They are suitable for cold liquids, freezer-safe, and Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI®) Certified compostable to compost within 180 days in a commercial composting facility, which may not exist in your area. A green sample cup lid that is as light and strong as petroleum-based plastic portion cups, but can be composted! These green lids for portion cups create a tight seal for condiments, sides, dips, dressings, or toppings. With a perfect design for consumers and restaurant owners, these green portion cup lids meet the new labeling requirements for compostable food service products in Washington State and Colorado. Effective in 2024, these laws require certain compostable products to be labeled in ways that make them “readily and easily identifiable” as compostable.
